Founder + Managing Principal
After fifteen years of working at renowned architecture firms, including Gehry Partners , Gensler , and Arquitectonica, Samantha found Design With Skill. Her past experience of architecture projects varies in scope and scale, both nationally and abroad. Over the course of her early career she uncovered a passion for multi-family and mixed-use properties. The complexity of this type of work put her problem solving skills to the test. She quickly learned clarity in communication, organization of the design and construction team, and a strong understanding of building systems integration were crucial for success. The various delivery and procurement methods of each project led her to approach the work through a budget conscious filter without compromising the quality of the design.
Samantha graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture in Pittsburgh, PA and attended the Architectural Association Visiting Student’s Program in London, UK. She is a licensed architect in California, Colorado, and Hawaii. In addition, she is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), Business Among Moms (BAM), and a certified LEED Green Associate. She is currently a candidate for certification as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp). As a strong believer in community engagement and participation, she recently joined South Pasadena's Design Review Board and volunteers as an adviser for the Department of Planning's Professional Volunteer Program (PVP) in the City of Los Angeles.
